Fill and sign flat forms
Learn to enter information, add signatures, and share or securely store flat forms in Acrobat.
Flat forms are scanned paper forms or PDFs that don't have interactive fields to fill in or sign. Adobe Acrobat allows you to interact with flat forms by adding text or signatures.
Select the field where you want to add text. A text field appears along with a text box menu.
Type text in the field or drag a signature or initials from the E-sign panel.
Select the text box and make any necessary changes.
Hover over the text box’s border until the cursor changes and move it to the desired position if needed.
Select Choose a color for type text from the Quick action toolbar to change the text color.
To change the text spacing from normal to combed, select the Options menu from the text box menu and then select Character spacing.
Save the form after filling in the information.
You can convert a flat form to a fillable form using the Prepare a form tool in Acrobat Pro. This feature isn’t available for Acrobat Reader.
