Learn how to resize, rotate, and duplicate multiple objects simultaneously in Adobe InDesign.
Transforming multiple objects at once helps maintain consistency across your layout without requiring grouping. You can resize, rotate, or scale selected objects together while preserving their relative positions. When multiple objects are selected, a transformation bounding box appears around the selection, allowing you to modify them as a single unit.
Transform multiple objects simultaneously
Drag to select multiple objects, or hold Shift and select additional objects.
Position the pointer over a corner handle of the transformation bounding box.
Drag a handle to resize the objects.
Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (macOS) while dragging to scale objects.
Hold Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) while transforming to apply changes from the center point.
Duplicate objects while transforming
Use the Selection tool to select the objects.
Drag using the Selection tool, the Rotate tool, the Scale tool, or the Shear tool.
Hold Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) while dragging to create a duplicate.
Continue the transformation to position the duplicate, then release the mouse button.
Hold Shift while transforming to constrain the transformation.
Repeat transformations on other objects
Select and transform your initial object or objects using any transformation method.
Select the different objects where you want to apply the same transformation.
Select Object > Transform Again > Transform Again.
