Dimension CC 1.1 | April 2018
This release of Dimension CC rolls out new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
Edit In Photoshop: Send any image from Dimension directly to Photoshop to edit. See the updates in Dimension as soon as the document is saved in Photoshop.
Color support: Dimension CC now supports Colors from Creative Cloud Libraries. Easily apply saved colors to the background, material, and other properties.
Snapping: The Move tool now snaps objects to the ground plane at the bottom, middle, and top of any selection. The Rotate tool can now snap to 1 or 15-degree angle increments while rotating.
Move To Ground: Added a new item to the Action panel and the Object menu to move selected objects to the ground plane.
Marquee selection: You can now click and drag in the canvas to select multiple objects within the drawn rectangular marquee area.
Customizable keyboard shortcuts: Change the keyboard shortcuts for any tools and menu commands in the Preferences menu.
Automatic model cleanup: Models that are imported without certain attributes are now automatically prepared, reducing possible errors and improving the visual quality of objects. This includes generating UVs and normals when none are present.
New languages: Added support for Portuguese (Brazilian), Italian, and Spanish.
Match Image: Improved the accuracy of perspective alignment using the Adobe Sensei Match Image feature.
Focus: Depth of Field has been renamed to Focus. Focused items now stay in focus when the view is moved and an in-canvas focus indicator has been added.
Offscreen indicator: When a selected object is not within view a new offscreen indicator will appear in the canvas. Clicking the indicator now automatically moves the view to the selected object.
Glass rendering: Improved the visual rendering of glass objects, especially when using solid color backgrounds.
Default render name: The default name in Render Mode now uses the filename if working in a saved Dimension file.
Improved .obj loading: Improved the performance when loading .obj files. Loading an .obj file now displays a progress bar and a cancel button.
Transform tool rework: The Move, Scale, and Rotate tools have been updated for improved usability and performance. The colors have been updated for improved visibility.
Improved drag-and-drop: Drag-and-drop can now target materials to the scene panel and images to swatches such as background image.
Saved locked scale settings: Locking the scale of an object or the background is now remembered through selection changes and document sessions.
Object numbering: Improved the way numbering is handled in the scene panel when creating copies of objects.
Selection and transformation: Selecting and using the Move, Rotate, or Scale tool can now be done in one action instead of requiring two separate click events.
Magic Wand selection: The Magic Wand can now make subtractive selections to remove areas from the current selection.
Multiple Render saves: Updated Render Mode to allow for saving both a .png and .psd with one Render instead of requiring multiple renders.
UI enhancements: Single-clicking the panel titles and labels no longer collapses or expands a section. The disclosure of Materials in the Scene panel has been moved from right to left. The icons in the Scene panel have been updated.
System Requirements: The minimum supported macOS version has updated from OS X v10.10 (Yosemite) to macOS v10.11 (El Capitan). Dimension CC no longer prevents launch for systems below the minimum requirements.

View scenes from any angle
Move, scale, and rotate your objects in any direction to stage your scene exactly as you would like, and then use the orbit, hand, and zoom tools to move around the scene and view it from any angle.
Save your favorite angles with view bookmarks to quickly jump between working views and use familiar shortcuts to zoom to selected objects or to view the full scene.
Customize materials and textures
Get started with materials using a preset and completely customize all the attributes, such as color, roughness, metallicity, and translucence, to create a range of diverse and unique surface appearances.
Add your own images to a material property to control the property with a texture, adding details and variation. Rotate, offset, and tile the position of materials to get the precise placement of a material on any object.
Add graphics as decals
Apply your own images, logos, and designs as decals, by layering them over the materials of an object. Control the placement, rotation, and scale of the image directly on the surface of the model.
Give decals unique appearances with surface properties to make them metallic, glossy, or matte.
Add a background and automatically match your scene to the image's perspective and lighting. Re-create environments from images to quickly get started with compositing.
Powered by Adobe Sensei.
Easily add realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections with environment lights; panoramic spherical images that wrap around the scene to provide 360 HDR lighting. Choose from dozens of built-in studio lighting presets and find more on Adobe Stock 3D. Rotate and colorize to get the right look and add sunlight for strong, directional shadows, and lighting.
Add depth with focus
Select any point in the scene to have foreground and background elements blurred, adding depth and focus to a scene.
Use the Sampler tool to quickly sample and apply materials. Customize once and reuse the material through the scene.
Make Smart Selections
Easily select small sections of complex models with the familiar Magic Wand tool. Easily select repeating elements with the Select Similar option. Apply materials to Magic Wand selections even when complex models are built in one piece.
Familiar scene organization
Work quickly using the Scene panel. Automatically expand groups and complex models to highlight and show selected parts to navigate quickly. Easily rearrange, rename, hide, lock, and group objects.
Rendering powered by V-Ray
V-Ray is an award-winning rendering engine that has been the standard in film and animation industries for years. Adobe has partnered with Chaos Group to bring the V-Ray rendering engine in Dimension.

Easily render photorealistic quality without being an expert using presets. Choose between PNG and multi-layered PSD output formats. Work with Photoshop for powerful compositing and post-processing of your images using 16-bit and 32-bit output formats with multiple layers.
Use selection layers with the magic wand to isolate material or objects in the 2D render, depth layers to add post-processing blur and other effects, and separated 3D content and background image layers allow for further compositing.
