Unable to view SWF content

When you publish a Captivate project as SWF, you are unable to view the SWF content in your computer.

There is usually no error message, except the continually spinning pre-loader, as shown below:


This typically happens when the browser blocks the Flash content. To fix this, set up Flash Global Security to trust the local publish folder location.


  1. Verify if Flash Player is installed on your computer. Vist the site, https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html, to verify.

  2. To add the SWF published folder location as a trusted location in Flash security settings, right click on the Flash content. Click Settings.

  3. Choose the option Edit locations from the drop-down list.

  4. Choose Add location.

  5. In the Trust this location dialog, enter the location of the folder that contains your published output (SWF output).

  6. Click Confirm.

Try viewing the SWF output again in the browser.
