Issue

In some cases, Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, and Elements Organizer cannot run on computers that have been upgraded to Windows 10. The applications crash when you try to launch them.

Impacted versions

Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements versions 13 and 14

Impacted operating system

This issue occurs only on computers upgraded to the Windows 10 operating system from an earlier version of Windows. 

The issue does not occur on computers on which Windows 10 was installed after formatting the disk drive.

Workaround

Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012

  1. Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 from the Microsoft site.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Launch Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, or Elements Organizer.

Uninstall all Adobe Applications and then reinstall them

  1. Uninstall all Adobe products from your computer.
  2. Reinstall all applications.
  3. Restart your system
  4. Launch Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, or Elements Organizer.
