Learn how to use Photo and Art content types in Adobe Captivate's Generate image feature to create visuals that match your eLearning goals and branding.

What is an image content type?

The Generate image feature in Adobe Captivate allows you to control whether your visuals appear as realistic photographs or stylized illustrations. This helps course creators generate images that align with their eLearning goals and branding.

When generating an image, you can choose between two content types:

Photo: Produces lifelike, photographic images.
Art: Creates stylized or illustrated images that resemble digital artwork

This choice ensures that the generated visuals align with your instructional goals, whether you need a realistic training scenario or a more illustrative style for storytelling and concept explanation.

Select an image on the slide and then select Generate image.
In the Generate image panel, select either the Photo or Art option at the top of the panel.

The Generate image panel allows selection between Photo and Art content types before entering your prompt.
In the prompt field, enter a detailed description of the image you want to create.
Select Generate. Captivate generates two image variations based on your description and chosen content type.
Review the generated results and select the variation that best fits your course.

Choosing between Photo and Art styles

Photo: Use this style for realistic visuals that replicate real-world settings and situations. Best for compliance training, workplace safety, product demonstrations, customer interactions, or soft skills role-play.
Art: Use this style for creative, stylized visuals that simplify complex ideas or add storytelling appeal. Ideal for illustrations, cartoon-style characters, gamified learning modules, conceptual diagrams, or artistic backgrounds.
