Apply old school style to text

Learn how to use quick actions within the app to apply an old school style in a single click.

Add old school style to your text instantly in Illustrator.

Follow the steps to apply the old school style within the app:

  1. Select the   icon at the upper right of the Illustrator workspace or press F1 to access the Discover panel.

  2. In the Discover panel, select Browse > Quick actions and select Old school

  3. Select your type object and select Apply to give your text an old school style.

    Click Apply to change the text to old school text in the Discover panel > Quick Actions.

  4. Select Revert to undo the applied changes. The Revert button is disabled when you start editing the old school text.

  5. Expand the REFINE WITH section and select the Properties panel or Appearance panel to modify your text.

  6. To find more quick actions that you can apply to your objects, select Browse more quick actions.

    Click Revert to undo the changes applied by old school text quick action.
