Lightroom does not work after waking up computer from sleep

Issue

Lightroom desktop sometimes fails to wake up properly after the computer has gone to sleep, requiring it to be restarted. Long-running operations, such as syncing of newly imported files or large exports, can get repeatedly interrupted by this.

Lightroom 3.3 and 3.4

Workaround

We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix.

In the meantime, you can change the sleep settings on your system to avoid this problem:

Windows

  1. From the Start menu, choose Settings > System > Power & Sleep.

  2. Change the sleep setting to Never.

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences >  Energy Saver.

  2. Change the Turn display off after setting to Never.
