Get smart answers and interact with your scanned documents using voice or text in the Adobe Scan for Android mobile app.
The AI Assistant feature uses generative AI to help you understand and engage with documents on your mobile device. Ask questions like “What is this document about?” or “What’s the total on this receipt?” to get quick, helpful answers, whether it’s a receipt, form, note, or a multipage document.
Note
AI Assistant is a premium feature that requires a subscription. You can only ask a limited number of questions before being prompted to subscribe.

Choose a question from the suggested options in the AI Assistant panel, or type your question in the text box and select Send .

AI Assistant analyzes the document and provides an answer with citations to relevant sections. The answer to your question is displayed, with appropriate sources marked with numbers.
Interact with AI Responses
After AI Assistant generates an answer, you can explore and interact with the response.

Select a numbered citation to navigate directly to the corresponding section of the document.

Select the speaker in the upper-right to turn on the read-aloud feature.
Select the Options menu to access additional actions.

Use the Options menu to perform additional actions after viewing the AI-generated answer:
- Select Hide Sources to hide the attributed sources within the document.
- Select Copy full chat to copy the entire conversation.
- Select Clear chat history to start a new conversation.

Long-press any AI Assistant response to access more options:
- Read Aloud: Hear the response spoken aloud.
- Copy: Copy the text to your clipboard.
- Share: Share the response with others.
- Like: Let us know if the response was helpful.
- Dislike: Give feedback if the response wasn’t useful.

You can minimize the AI Assistant panel and continue reviewing your document while the response is generated.

Select Stop at any time to pause the process.
Turn off generative AI features

Close any open files.

Select your profile
and then select the Preferences tab. -
To turn off the generative AI features, deselect the Enable generative AI option in the Generative AI Features theme box.

To turn on the generative AI features again, select Enable generative AI features.
