Add and edit text

Learn how to add text to your designs and edit text properties in Adobe Photoshop on the web.

On the Photoshop on the web homepage, select Upload under Recommended features to browse for a file on your device.

Select Type from the toolbar, and then select anywhere on the canvas to enter text editing mode.

Note

When a text layer is created, sample text appears in a bounding box by default.

Select anywhere inside the bounding box, and then enter the desired text.

Tip

While the text layer is selected, explore Quick text and Presets in the Type panel to add styled text elements to your design. 

In the Contextual task bar, adjust the text settings as needed:

  • FontChange the font family.
  • Font sizeIncrease or decrease the text size.
  • Font colorApply a new color to the selected text.
  • Dynamic text: Resize and adjust the text automatically to fit within the text boundary.

Select More options   in the Contextual task bar to access additional text formatting settings, such as Leading, Tracking, Font style, and Alignment.

Select Done.
