Learn how to use Firefly Video model to generate videos and add them to the timeline in Firefly video editor.
When working with Firefly video editor, you can easily generate new videos directly from within the editor, without needing to switch pages or leave your workspace. You can use the built-in Firefly Video model's generation settings and instantly add them to your timeline. This streamlined workflow allows you to work with ideas and experiment with styles without interrupting your editing flow.
On the editor page, select the Generation settings icon from the right panel.
- You can also select Generate with Firefly from the Video editor prompt to open the Generation settings panel within editor mode.
- The Generation history panel also includes a Generate new button, which opens the Generation settings panel.
Add a text description for the video you want to generate.
Specify the resolution and aspect ratio for the generated video.
The default settings for generated videos are 24 frames per second (FPS) and a duration of 5 seconds.
If you'd like to guide the visual direction of your video using images, you can upload them for the first and last keyframes, or just one of them, under the Keyframes section. These images act as visual guides, helping Firefly Video generate content that begins and/or ends with your uploaded frames.
To use the frame where the playhead is positioned on the timeline, select First or Last under the Frames section, then choose Current frame.
You can also specify camera behavior using the following generation settings:
- Shot size: Determines how much of the subject or scene is visible within the frame.
- Camera angle: Defines the perspective from which the camera views the subject.
- Motion: Specifies how the camera moves during the shot.
Under Style, you can also select a style preset to give your video a distinct visual identity.
Selecting a style automatically disables the ability to set a start or end frame in the Frames section.
Select Generate.
The generated video is added to the Generation history panel, and you can drag and drop it to the timeline.
