Enable the Send in Bulk feature for users
Send in Bulk is a power user feature that can be enabled at the account/group level in enterprise, business, and team tier accounts.
Send in Bulk allows a user to create a template agreement form that is matched with a list of (up to 300) recipients. When sent, an agreement is created for each recipient using the template form.
An optional feature to upload the recipient list as a CSV file permits the sender to pre-populate the fields on the template form with custom field data to personalize each agreement.
To enable the Send in Bulk feature for the users in your account/group:
- Navigate to Account Settings > Global Settings > Send in Bulk.
- Enable the Enable Send in Bulk option.
- Optionally (but strongly recommended), enable Allow CSV file import for recipient list.
- Save the setting.
When Send in Bulk is enabled, a tile is exposed on the Home tab to allow users to access the feature.
Accounts that have Users in Multiple Groups enabled should note that the feature is only accessible to users who have the feature enabled in their Primary Group.
A user who is a member of a group where Send in Bulk is enabled (but not in the user's Primary Group) will see the tile but will not be allowed to engage the interface.
Allow CSV file import for recipient list
The option to upload the recipient list in a CSV file is highly recommended.
Creating a recipient list as a CSV file provides better control and visibility of the list as opposed to typing (or pasting) the list directly into the To: field.
Additionally, the CSV can contain columns of data that define field values for each recipient, allowing the form to be personalized for the individual recipient, improving the recipient experience and completion rates.
When enabled, a descriptive link is inserted under the To: field that opens the upload dialogue.
Limitations for the Send in Bulk workflow
- The sending user's email address cannot be included in the list of recipients.
- To send agreements with Send in Bulk, at least two recipients must be included (Creating two agreements).
- Only one external recipient can be defined per agreement.
- Only the sender can counter-sign the agreements.
- Only Password and Knowledge-based authentication methods are supported.
- The number of transactions that can be generated using the Send in Bulk feature is limited based on the tier of service:
- Enterprise and business tier customers can generate up to 300 transactions.
- Acrobat Pro with advanced e‑sign for teams and Adobe Acrobat Sign Professional customers can generate up to 50 transactions.
- Acrobat Pro with advanced e‑sign can generate up to 50 transactions.
- Small business/Team trials can generate up to five transactions.
- Enterprise trials can generate up to three transactions.
