Learn how to refine layer mask edges with Enhance edge in Adobe Photoshop on desktop.

Create cleaner, more natural-looking cutouts with Enhance edge  . It removes residual background color from the edges of your layer mask for better results. For best results, use it with subjects on high-contrast backgrounds.

Select the layer containing the image, then Remove background from the Contextual Task Bar. Photoshop detects the subject, removes the background, and adds a layer mask to the image layer.

Select Solid Color from the adjustments menu to add a new background.

Select a solid color from the Color Picker panel, then move the Color Fill layer below the masked image layer.

Select the layer mask, then Enhance edge   from the Contextual Task Bar. Photoshop refines the mask edges to remove residual background color and create cleaner, more natural edges. Each use consumes 20 generative credits. A confirmation message appears when the enhancement is complete.
