If you try to change your Adobe ID email address to an email address that you previously used, an error message is displayed.
For example, consider the following case:
- You currently use the email address email@example.com.
- You want to change the email address to firstname.lastname@example.org (which you previously used previously as your Adobe ID email address).
When you try to change the email address, you get the following error message:
Your account changes couldn’t be saved.
The recommended–and easy--way to fix this error is to change your Adobe ID email address to another email address that you have not previously used.

If you do not have another email address available, you can change the email address to your previously used email address, as described in the next section.
Using the previously discussed example, assume that you want to change your Adobe ID email address from email@example.com to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To make this change, first free up the email address email@example.com. That is, ensure that this email address is no longer associated with an Adobe ID. Proceed as follows:
