Add watermarks to photos
Learn how to apply custom text or graphic watermarks to protect and brand your exported photos.
Watermarks help protect your work and reinforce your brand by overlaying text or graphics on photos before sharing or exporting. You can add watermarks in Adobe Lightroom on mobile during Export as and Save copy to device. Watermarks apply only to exported copies, keeping your original photos unaltered in your library.
Add a text watermark
To export multiple photos, select and hold any photo in the Lightroom tab, select all desired photos, then select the Share icon.
In the Share Photo panel, select the Settings icon.
In the Export settings panel, toggle on the Include watermark, and then select Customize.
In the Customize watermark panel, select the Text tab and enter the watermark text in the text box. By default, Lightroom displays a copyright symbol followed by your account name in the text box.
Customize the text appearance using the available options:
- Format text: Select T, B, or I options to change the font style of your text according to your preference.
- Rotate: Use this to rotate the text clockwise by 90 degrees for a different orientation.
- Color Swatch: Select between black and white font color to suit your design or background.
- Use Drop Shadow: Toggle on to add a shadow effect behind the text for better visibility and depth.
Use any of these sliders to further refine the appearance and placement of the watermark:
- Size: Scale the watermark proportionally to make it larger or smaller without distorting its aspect ratio.
- Opacity: Control the watermark's transparency to make it more subtle or more visible as needed.
- Horizontal offset: Fine-tune the watermark’s position left or right relative to the placement circle.
- Vertical offset: Adjust the watermark’s position up or down for precise alignment within the placement area.
