Learn how to add a blank clip to the timeline when working with Firefly video editor.

Adding a blank clip in the timeline is helpful in many editing scenarios. It can create a pause between scenes without leaving an empty gap, provide a solid background for text and logos, and serve other purposes.

When you add a blank clip to the timeline, it is inserted at the position of the playhead and placed on the lowest video or image layer.

Before you begin:

Create a new project, and if you have any media files, add them to the timeline.

On the video editor page, move the playhead to the point in the timeline where you want to insert the blank clip.

In the timeline, there is a video added and the playhead is placed at a place where a blank clip is to be added.
