As of September 15 2017, Adobe Creative Cloud apps now rely on your operating system (OS) to decode/encode Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus audio formats. Adobe no longer bundles the native libraries from Dolby with Creative Cloud products.

Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015 new features

Announcing the release of the newest version of Media Encoder CC, with all-new versions of the creative video and audio desktop apps.

Creative Cloud members and trial users can download and install these applications using the Creative Cloud desktop application. You can also download applications online here. Note that the 2015 Creative Cloud releases are designed to remove previous versions of the CC apps. The 2015 release of Media Encoder CC the following new features: Time Tunerexpanded format support including JPEG 2000, Dolby Digital multichannel support, QuickTime audio channelization, new user interface appearance preferences, and improvements to Creative Cloud publishing. In addition to several new and enhanced features, this release also includes many bug fixes and stability improvements.

Alongside the key features described above, there are several other improvements:

  • Rewrap compatible video streams in to a QuickTime wrapper easily with the new QuickTime rewrap preset
  • An option to set a custom start timecode for your export preset
  • Better logic for detecting when you’ve selected an image sequence for import
