Troubleshoot Mac Application Store version of Photoshop Elements

Reset application preferences

If you're facing trouble while launching Photoshop Elements Editor, reset the application preferences using the following steps:

  1. Press Cmd + Option + Shift while launching Photoshop Elements.

  2. Click Yes to delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File.

If you're unable to resolve the problem using the above solution, manually delete the Preferences folder by following the steps below.

  1. In the Finder window, click Go > Go to Folder.

  2. Type ~/Library/Containers and click Go.

  3. Search for the following folders and move them to trash.

    • com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer16
    • com.adobe.ElementsSmartTag
    • com.adobe.pse16
    • com.adobe.pse16editor
  4. In the Finder window, click Go > Go to Folder.

  5. Type ~/Library/Group Containers and click Go.

  6. Search for a folder named JQ525L2MZD.pepe.

  7. Delete all files and folders inside JQ525L2MZD.pepe except the following folder:

    JQ525L2MZD.pepe/Application Support/Adobe/Elements Organizer/Catalogs.

    Note:

    Do not delete this folder as it contains your catalogs.

  8. Launch Photoshop Elements or Elements Organizer.

Error on launching Photoshop Elements

Following error message is displayed on launching Photoshop Elements.

Invalid message sent to event "NSEvent: type=MouseMoved loc=(1594,770) time=3343.4 flags=0x100 win=0x7fd836c8f050 winNum=125 ctxt=0x0 evNum=0 click=1 buttonNumber=0 pressure=0 deltaX=0.000000 deltaY=0.000000 deviceID:0x0 subtype=0”

Solution

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Select Adobe Photoshop ElementsPreferences General
    • Press Command+K.
  2. Set the language to English.

  3. Close Photoshop Elements and launch it again.
