Learn how to fix the App Update required message in Adobe Bridge.
Note
Adobe Bridge is unaffected by the App Update Required message. It occurs because Adobe Photo Downloader, a component installed with Bridge, hasn't yet been updated to support macOS 28.
Issue
Adobe Photo Downloader, a component of Bridge, isn't compatible with macOS 28 because it is currently an Intel-only (x86_64) binary and does not meet the Universal binary requirement.
Workaround
- No action is required. You can safely dismiss the alert and continue using Bridge and Adobe Photo Downloader as normal.
- Bridge will soon update Adobe Photo Downloader to a Universal binary. The update will be released before macOS 28 general availability.
- Keep Bridge up to date to receive the Universal version of Adobe Photo Downloader as soon as it’s available.
