Mojikumi settings options

Open the Mojikumi Settings dialog box from Type > Mojikumi Settings, to define the spacing for each class displayed in the Mojikumi Settings. Values can be specified as percentages (%) or in units ().

Setting

Minimum

Minimum spacing applied when compressing text.

Desired

Preferred spacing value.

Maximum

Maximum spacing applied when expanding text.

Priority

Defines the order in which spacing rules are applied.

Kinsoku sets

Open the Kinsoku Settings dialog from Type > Kinsoku Settings, to define rules for characters (such as punctuation) that cannot appear at the beginning or end of lines. You can choose from available preset options or customize these settings as needed.

Setting

None

Turns off Kinsoku.

Soft

Applies flexible line-breaking rules.

Hard

Applies strict line-breaking rules.

Kinsoku Shori types

Select the Kinsoku Shori Types from the Paragraph panel flyout menu to control how text adjusts when line-breaking rules are applied. You can choose how restricted characters are handled when they occur at the end of a line from the following three options:
