Select a preset brush

Learn how to choose from preset brushes in Adobe Photoshop and adjust their settings to suit your painting and editing requirements.

Select Window > Brushes.

Select a brush from the Brushes panel. Hover over a brush to see a live stroke preview.

The Brushes panel shows available brush presets with one brush selected.
Try different brush tips to create unique strokes.

Open the Brush Settings panel to:

  • Browse all available brush presets.
  • Adjust characteristics such as size, texture, and shape dynamics.
  • Preview how the brush will paint in real time.

Padoms:

To keep your adjustments, save them as a new brush preset instead of editing the original.
