Adobe Lightroom Downloader app

Learn how to download all your synced Lightroom photos and videos to your computer.

About the Adobe Lightroom Downloader app

The Adobe Lightroom Downloader app helps you download all your synced Lightroom photos to a destination on your computer's hard-drive.

  • The app downloads all your Lightroom photos and videos from the cloud as original files and writes them into a date-based folder hierarchy at the hard-drive location that you specify.
  • The edits made to the raw images are written into the XMP sidecar files that accompany the downloaded raw files.
  • For the photos originally uploaded from Lightroom Classic that only have a Smart Preview synced to the cloud, the app downloads DNG Smart Previews only for such photos.

Supported operating systems

  • macOS v10.13 or higher
  • Windows 10 or higher

Update: Recent issues with the Lightroom Downloader on Windows are fixed.

With these updates, some users may experience issues with logging in via Google. If you do, try these steps:

  1. Quit the Lightroom Downloader and sign in to Google on your default browser. Relaunch the Downloader and try again.
  2. If that fails, click Try Again on the Couldn’t Sign In warning page. If you previously tried logging in with your email, log in this time using your phone number instead. If you previously tried logging in with your phone number, log in this time using your email.
  3. If both of those options fail, use the Adobe sign-in option. If you don't know your Adobe password, go to the Account page, sign in with your Adobe ID, select Reset Your Password and follow the steps to set it. You can verify that your Google and Adobe accounts are connected on that page. Then, relaunch the downloader and sign in with your Adobe ID and new password.
