Purchases through Microsoft Store FAQ

What is the Microsoft Store?

The Microsoft Store is an application on Windows desktop and devices (phone or tablet) used to purchase, download, install, and license applications. The Microsoft Store tracks user purchases through their Windows login ID and password, allowing them to redownload their applications on multiple machines.

Where are Adobe products available for purchase through the Microsoft Store?

Purchases can be made worldwide. Languages available are:

  • English

  • German
  • Japanese
  • Dutch
  • Swedish
  • Italian

Note: When you download and install an Adobe application from the Microsoft Store, all available languages are included. The Windows OS settings determine the language that the application uses. If not, the next language on the list is used, and so on.

There is currently no way to get an upgrade discount inside the Microsoft Store.

When you purchase an Adobe product around the time of the release of a new version, you could qualify for a free upgrade. However, a purchase through the Microsoft Store does not qualify for a Post Announce Upgrade. For more information on Post Announce Upgrades, see Upgrade policy after new product announcement.

What if I need technical support?

The Microsoft Store handles the download, installation, licensing, and updating of all products purchased through it. If you encounter an issue with an Adobe product during one of these four processes, visit http://www.support.microsoft.com.

For all other issues, including program errors and how to questions, visit http://www.adobe.com/support/photoshop-elements. This page has online Help, links to the user-to-user forums, and the phone number to call Adobe Technical Support. Additionally, you can visit http://feedback.photoshop.com to have your questions answered.

Why aren't product updates available, like the updates for the non-Microsoft Store version?

Although the product name and version number are the same, a Microsoft Store purchase is a separate build of the application. The Adobe Application Manager (updater) is not installed with Microsoft Store versions of Adobe software. Manually downloaded patches from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ don't update a WAS version. The Microsoft Store handles all product updates.
