After Effects crashes on Windows

Issue: After Effects crashes on Faulty Module: MSVCR120.dll, MSVCR110.dll or MSVCR100.dll

Reasons:·

  • Faulty Module MSVCR120.dll, MSVCR110.dll, or MSVCR100.dll (Windows)
  • Corrupt dll or old C++ Redistributable packages
  • Updates Pending for Windows OS
  • OS change (Windows 7 to Windows 11) causes the DLL's to get corrupted

Workaround

  1. MSVCR100.dll, MSVCR110.dll or MSVCR100.dll is a part of Microsoft Visual C++ and is often required for running programs developed with Visual C++. Some games or applications need the file in the game/application installation folder. Copying it from C:\Windows\System32 folder to the install-folder of the After Effects (C:\Program Files\ADOBE\Adobe After Effects CC 2015)
