Photoshop may crash with Lavasoft Ad-Aware software installed on Windows. This software may be installed as a browser extension or as part of another software package (e.g. ManyCam Software).
Uninstall or disable Lavasoft software and/or associated software (e.g. ManyCam Software)
See the Lavasoft website for directions on how to remove their software.
To identify that Lavasoft is the faulting module:
- Open Settings
- Click on System
- Click on About
- Click on "Additional administrative tools"
- Open "Event Viewer"
- Expand "Windows Logs" from the sidebar and click on "Application"
- Find an Application Error that involves Photoshop
- Look in the "General" pane for information about the faulting module
If the faulting module is "LavasoftTcpService64.dll" (or something similar) then Lavasoft is the culprit.
