When trying to open a licensed image in an application via the Adobe Stock website (https://stock.adobe.com), you receive the error message "Could not open your file".

Cause

The Creative Cloud Desktop App is required to open an image in an application from Adobe Stock.

Resolution

  • Make sure you have the latest version of Creative Cloud Desktop App installed.
  • Double-check which ID you used to sign into Creative Cloud Desktop App: this must be the same ID (email address) and same ID type (Adobe ID, Enterprise ID, Federated ID) as the one you are using on the Adobe Stock website.
