Increase image resolution with Generative Upscale

In Adobe Lightroom, you can easily improve the resolution of your photos using Generative Upscale, powered by Topaz. It analyzes your photo to enhance detail, creating sharper images with image quality intact.

Open a photo in the Detail view.

Right-click the photo and select Enhance with AI > Generative Upscale. You can also access Generative Upscale from the Photo > Enhance with AI menu.

In the Generative upscale dialog box, select the desired output scale (2x or 4x).

Generative Upscale dialog shows 2x and 4x upscaling options, image size preview, generative credit balance, and an Upscale button to enhance image quality and resolution.
Use the Generative Upscale options to improve the clarity of your images.

Select Create stack to group the upscaled and the original photos in a stack. Stacks are currently supported only in the Cloud

Select Upscale. You can view the progress in the upper-left corner of the header bar. Once complete, you'll find the generated image in the stack or next to the original image in the Filmstrip.

Note

Generative Upscale consumes credits depending on the upscaled file's output size. If the chosen scale factor exceeds a model’s limit, reduce it or resize the image.

  • Topaz Gigapixel (files up to 25 megapixels) = 10 credits
  • Topaz Gigapixel (25-56 megapixels) = 20 credits
