System requirements
- 256 MB memory (RAM)
- 100 MB of disk space for installation
- 200 MB of free disk space after installation (for optimal performance)
- Intel Pentium III processor 450MHz or faster is recommended
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later is recommended
- One of the following:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with the latest service pack and
Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0
-OR- - Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and Microsoft Internet Information
Server (IIS) 6.0
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with the latest service pack and
Note: While Adobe RoboHelp Server can run on Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional (with IIS installed on either system), these combinations are not as stable as operating systems designed to run a server environment such as Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Microsoft Windows 2003 Server.
Note: All published projects are physically stored in a subdirectory of "C:\Program Files\Adobe\RoboHelp Server 7" unless a different partition/drive for RoboHelp Server is specified during installation. (Often, all published Web content is kept
on a different partition or drive than the operating system. This creates a small degree of fault tolerance and increased security for both the operating system and the Web files.)
Installation
To install Adobe RoboHelp Server 7:

Close all programs.

Insert the CD labeled Adobe RoboHelp Server 7 into your CD-ROM drive. If Autorun is enabled on your system, the installation starts automatically and you can skip steps 3 and 4.

From the Start menu, select Run.

Type D:\setup (substitute the appropriate letter of your CD-ROM drive for D).

Follow the instructions on the screen.
Known problems
(1427255) RoboHelp Server not getting configured on Oracle 9i/10g Database Server

Open the file <RoboHelp-server Install Folder>\AlureSQL.xml.

Goto the xml node <SQLCommands DSNType="OracleinOraHome92">.

Replace OracleinOraHome92 by the name of the Oracle Odbc Driver. For this

Open ODBC Data Source Administrator

Goto Drivers Tab.

Look for the Driver name for Oracle.

Use this Driver name without spaces (case sensitive) and replace the value in the XML node.
