Use Markup for AI image generation

Zadnja posodobitev 28. avg. 2026

Learn how to use text and drawing tools to guide AI edits in Adobe Photoshop on desktop.

Markup lets you add instructions directly on your image to guide AI edits. Use text or drawing tools to show what you want to change, where changes should apply, or how new elements should appear.

Add notes to specify edits, draw rough shapes to indicate placement, and combine markup with text prompts for more precise results.

To use the text and brush markup tools, select a Gemini AI model from the model picker dropdown in Prompt to edit.

Select File > Open to browse and open an image.

Select a pixel or generative layer. If you select a generative layer, select the entire image.

Select a Gemini AI model from the model picker dropdown.

  • Use the text tool to add notes describing the changes you want to make.
