All the menus in Dreamweaver are redesigned in this release to make it easier to access the menu items.

Here is a brief outline of the menus present in Dreamweaver CC 2015 and Dreamweaver CC 2017.

In summary:

  • The Modify, Format, and Command menus have been removed, and all tasks located within it have been moved to other appropriate locations. For more information, see Menus removed from Dreamweaver CC 2017.
  • The Tools and Find menus are newly added in Dreamweaver CC 2017, and tasks from other menus have been moved within it. For more information, see Menus added to Dreamweaver CC 2017.
  • For information on what's changed within the other Dreamweaver menus, navigate to the required section to see a before and after snapshot indicating what's added, what's removed, and what's moved elsewhere.

File menu

The following menu items are added to the Files panel:

  • Page Properties is moved from Modify > Page Properties to File > Page Properties.
  • Attach Style Sheet is moved from Format > CSS Styles > Attach Style Sheet to File > Attach Style Sheet.
  • Preview in Browser is now replaced with Real-time Preview.

There are no other changes to this menu.

Edit menu

The Edit menu is revamped to include all Edit-related tasks within it. 

All text, paragraph, and list-related formatting tasks are now moved to the Edit menu. 

Functions such as Clear and Live Search have been removed, and non edit-related tasks have been moved out to other menus.

View menu

The following types of changes can be seen in the View menu:

  • The View menu is view-specific in Dreamweaver CC 2017. That is, if you are working in Code View, then Design-specific options are not seen. Similarly, if you work in Design View, then Code View-specific options are not available. And if you work in Split view, then depending on the nature of the Split view, both Code and Design View options, or Code and Live View options are available.
  • A number of options have been moved out of the View menu. Some of them have been moved to other menus, others have been deleted.

Insert menu

The Insert menu remains unchanged. However Insert > Favorites is renamed to Insert > Customize Favorites in Dreamweaver CC 2017.

The following site-specific menu items in the Site menu are now moved within Site > Site Options:

  • Site-Specific Code Hints
  • Synchronize Sitewide
  • Check Links Sitewide
  • Change Link Sitewide

Window menu

The History panel is deprecated in Dreamweaver CC 2017, and hence the History menu item is removed from the Window menu.

In addition, arrange-related options such as Cascade, Tile, and Combine as Tabs are moved under Window > Arrange.
