Enhance your photos with Creative Filters in Photoshop Elements.

Introduced in Photoshop Elements 2027

Choose from seven artistic filters, apply one of the built-in presets, and fine-tune the effect using customisable controls to create your own unique look. Changes to presets and controls are reflected on your image in real time.

Apply a Creative Filter

Open an image in the Advanced workspace.

Do one of the following:

    Select Filter > Creative Filters, or Select Creative Filters from the Action Bar.

Select one of the available creative filters.

Select one of the available presets. Each Creative Filter includes four curated presets that provide different artistic variations of the selected filter.

Presets for Duotone

Changes are reflected on the image in real time. Adjust the available controls to customize the selected preset.
To undo the applied filter and close the Creative Filters panel, select Revert from the top bar.

Color

Apply creative color treatments to change the overall mood and tone of your photo.

Choose from Cool Tint, Warm Glow, Pop Boost, and Muted Sepia presets.

Property

Description

Color

Selects the color used to tint the photo.

Blending

Controls how strongly the selected color blends with the original colors in the photo.

Duotone

Create a two-color effect by mapping different colors to the light and dark areas of your photo.

Choose from Blue Shadow, Purple Ink, Orange Sunset, and Classic Sepia presets.

Property

Description

Highlight Color

Selects the color applied to the lighter areas of the photo.

Shadow Color

Selects the color applied to the darker areas of the photo.

Use Background Color In Transparent Area

Uses the current background color in transparent areas of the photo.

Embroidery

Transform your photo into embroidered artwork with customizable stitch and thread effects.

Choose from Fine Stitch, Cross Stitch, Coarse Thread, and Silk Texture presets.

Description

Light Angle

Controls the direction of light across the embroidery effect.

Number of Colors

Sets the number of colors used in the embroidery effect.

Density

Controls the density of the embroidery stitches.

Embroidery Style

Selects the style used to render the embroidery effect.

Fill/Outline Tightness

Controls how closely the fill follows the outlines in the photo.

Fill Height

Controls the height of the fill effect.

Thread Thickness

Controls the thickness of the simulated threads.

Thread Length

Controls the length of the simulated threads.

Smooth Edges

Controls the smoothness of the edges in the embroidered areas.

Imperfections

Controls the amount of irregularity in the embroidery effect.

Color properties

Expand the individual color sections to customize the colors used in the embroidery effect. The available color sections depend on the value selected for Number of Colors.

Enables customization of the selected color.

Color

Selects the color used for the selected embroidery color.

Design

Selects the stitch design used for the selected color.

Orientation

Controls the orientation of the stitch design.

Density

Controls the density of the stitches for the selected color.

Height

Glitch

Add digital distortion and displacement effects to create a glitch-inspired look.

Choose from RGB Shift, Pixel Drift, Data Slice, and Scanline Glitch presets.

Glitch Density

Controls the amount of glitch artifacts across the photo.

Glitch Intensity

Controls the strength of the distortion.

Glitch Blur Intensity

Controls the amount of blur or smearing applied to the glitch effect.

Glitch Angle

Choose from Soften, Directional Painting, Heavy Paint, and Canvas Impasto presets.

Fine Details

Controls how much detail from the original photo is retained.

Strokes Size

Controls the overall size of the brush strokes.

Strokes Size X

Controls the horizontal size of the brush strokes.

Controls the vertical size of the brush strokes.

Highlights Strokes Size

Controls the stroke size in brighter areas of the photo.

Midtones Strokes Size

Controls the stroke size in midtone areas of the photo.

Pattern

X Amount

Controls the number of pattern elements horizontally.

Y Amount

Controls the number of pattern elements vertically.

Pattern Size X

Controls the horizontal size of the pattern elements.

Pattern Size Y

Offset

Controls the offset between pattern elements.

Vertical Offset

Applies the offset vertically.

Rotation

Controls the rotation of the pattern elements.

Randomness

Controls the amount of variation in the pattern arrangement.

Vintage

Give your photo a classic, film-inspired look using color, grain, contrast, and vignette effects.

Choose from Warm Fade, Film Classic, Faded Memory, and Retro Punch presets.

Shadow Contrast

Controls the contrast in darker areas of the photo.

Light Contrast

Color Intensity

Controls the intensity of colors in the photo.

Grain Intensity
