When you are creating a coach mark for a layer, there are only four reasons you should use Placement > Layer. You can create a Layer coach mark if you are showing how to select a layer, move a layer, or turn a layer visibility off or on. Otherwise, you should use the workflow: Placement > Panel, Panel > Layers. See below for a detailed breakdown of coach marks for layers.

These are only four reasons to use Placement > Layer to create a coach mark. They are 1) Select a layer, 2) move a layer, 3) turn layer visibility off, and 4) turn layer visibility on.
