Learn to cut everything from the beginning of a clip up to where the playhead is placed on the timeline.

In the Firefly video editor, the Trim beginning to playhead function removes all content from the start of a selected clip up to the playhead's position on the timeline. After trimming, the clip starts precisely at the playhead, making it easy to eliminate unwanted footage at the beginning without manually adjusting the in-point.

Before you begin:

Create a new project and add media files to the timeline.

Select the video, image, or text layer that you want to edit in the timeline.

Scrub through the clip in the timeline and find the exact frame where you want the video to begin, then place the playhead at that point.

Go to the top-left menu, select Clip, and then choose Trim beginning to playhead.

The menu is open, and the Trim beginning to playhead option is selected under the Clip menu.
Use the Trim beginning to playhead option to remove the frames from the start of the selected layer to the playhead’s position on the timeline.
