Learn how to extend paths with the Pencil tool.

Try it in the app
Use the Pencil tool to draw freehand or constrained paths in a few simple steps.

Select the Selection tool from the toolbar, and then select the path you want to extend.

Select the Pencil tool from the toolbar.

Hover over the endpoint of the path. When the path-continuation icon appears on the Pencil tool, drag to extend the path.
