Learn how to reshape paths using the Pencil tool.

Try it in the app
Use the Pencil tool to draw freehand or constrained paths in a few simple steps.

Open Illustrator

Select the Selection tool from the toolbar, and then select the path you want to reshape.

Select the Pencil tool from the toolbar.

Hover over the path from where you want to reshape. When the small star icon disappears from the Pencil tool, drag to reshape.

Pastaba:

Depending on where you begin to redraw the path and in which direction you drag, you may get unexpected results. For example, you may unintentionally change a closed path to an open path, change an open path to a closed path, or lose a portion of a shape.
