Auto scroll transcript

Learn how to enable auto-scrolling of the transcript so that it stays in sync with the spoken words in the video.

When you turn on Auto-scrolling when working with Text-based editing, when the video is played back for preview, the transcript moves along with the spoken words. This helps you follow the part of the text that matches the video without scrolling yourself, making it easy to spot the exact line being spoken and replay or review it.

Before you begin:

Create a new project and add a video file with dialogue to the timeline.

Select the Text-based editing icon in the right panel.

The Text-based editing panel displays the automatically generated transcript of the video.

Use the   icon and enable the Auto-scrolling option.

The Text-based editing panel is open and contains transcribed content. The More menu is also open, and the Auto-scroll option is selected.
Enable auto-scrolling of the transcript to stay in sync with the spoken words in the video.

Once enabled, when you play back the video or move the playhead, the transcript will auto-scroll to show the exact part of the text.
