Learn how to change or stylize the background of your clips with simple options using Premiere on iPhone.

The Background tool lets you refine the look of your video by isolating your subject and treating the background differently. This is useful for creating focus, setting mood, or achieving a professional look without advanced masking.

Tap on the clip you want to edit in the timeline.

Scroll through the toolbar at the bottom of the screen and tap Background.

Tap Background to remove or style your clip’s background with creative options.

Choose from the following background options:

  • None: Keeps the background as it is without any changes.
  • Blurred: Softens the background to make your subject stand out.
  • Noir: Turns the background into a dark, high-contrast style for a dramatic effect.
