Copy or move photos between albums
Learn how to organize photos across your album collection.
Copying photos to an album creates a duplicate reference in the destination album while keeping the original in its current location. Moving photos transfers them to the destination album and removes them from the source album.
In the Lightroom albums panel, scroll to Your albums, and then select the album you want to copy or move photos from.
Select and hold the photo you want to copy or move to view the pop-up menu.
If you want to copy or move multiple photos, select and hold one photo, then select additional ones to include them in the process.
From the menu that appears, do one of the following:
- Add to: Select Add to, select the album where you want to copy the photos, and then select Add.
- Move to: Select Move to, select the album where you want to move the photos, and then select Move.
You can also copy or move a single photo to an album while editing. In Detail view, select Options menu > Organize , then select Add to and copy the photo or Move to and move the photo to an album.
