Create albums and add photos
Learn how to create and manage albums in Lightroom on mobile.
Albums help you organize your photos by grouping them according to your workflow needs. Once created, you can configure how it handles photos and shares the album.
Create albums
In the Lightroom Albums panel, select Create new.
From the menu that appears, select Album.
In the Create Album dialog box, add an Album Title, and then select OK.
Configure album settings
Select the Lightroom tab, and then select the albums view drop-down menu.
In the Your albums list, select the Options icon next to your album name.
Manage the following settings that appear in the pop-up menu:
- Add photos: Import photos to the album from your Device gallery, Lightroom Gallery, Files, and Connected camera/card.
- Auto add from device photos: Toggle to automatically add photos from device folders to the album.
- Share & invite: Open the Share & invite panel to configure share photos settings.
- Move to: Move the album to any desired folder.
- Rename: Change the name of the album.
- Delete: Permanently delete the album.
Add photos to your album
Select the Lightroom tab, and then select the albums view drop-down menu.
In the Your albums list, select the album to open it, and then select the Add photos icon.
You can also capture new photos directly into an album by selecting the Camera icon.
From the Add photos from menu, select Device gallery, Lightroom Gallery, Files, and Connected camera/card as your photo source.
Select the photos you want to add and confirm.
Create albums
Select the Lightroom tab, and then select the albums view drop-down menu.
In the Lightroom albums panel, select Create new.
From the menu that appears, select Album.
In the Create Album dialog box, add an Album Title, and then select OK.
Configure album settings
Select the Lightroom tab, and then select the albums view drop-down menu.
In the Your albums list, select the Options icon next to your album name.
Manage the following settings that appear in the pop-up menu:
- Add photos: Import photos to the album from your device's Gallery, Lightroom library, and Google Drive Files.
- Auto add from device: Toggle on to automatically add photos from device folders to the album.
- Store Locally: Toggle on to download and store the album’s photos on your device.
- Get shareable link: Generate a link to share the album with others.
- Move to Shared Photos: Move the album to the Shared folder. This option is only accessible for shared albums.
- Move to: Move the album to any desired folder.
- Rename: Change the name of the album.
- Delete: Permanently delete the album.
- Slideshow: Play the photos in the album as a slideshow.
Enable the Auto add from device feature for albums that collect images from ongoing projects. Lightroom will automatically add matching photos as you capture them.
Add photos to your album
Select the Lightroom tab, and then select the albums view drop-down menu.
In the Your albums list, select the album to open it, and then select the Add photos icon.
You can also capture new photos directly into an album by selecting the Camera icon.
From the ADD PHOTOS FROM menu, select Gallery, Lightroom, or Files as your photo source.
Select the photos you want to add and confirm.
