Follow these steps to resolve errors when downloading and installing the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Check the basics first

  1. Check your Internet connection.

    The Creative Cloud desktop app requires an Internet connection to download and update apps. Verify that you can connect to the Internet, disconnect and then reconnect.

  2. Make sure that your computer has approximately 3 MB of disk space available to download your Creative Cloud app.

  3. Identify any installation conflicts.

    • If you have a firewall, it may be interfering with the install. Please contact an administrator to help you disable it temporarily to install Creative Cloud apps.
    • Sometimes antivirus software can interfere with the download. See your antivirus documentation for information on temporarily disabling virus check.
  4. Try a different download link.

    If none of the solutions above resolve the issue, try downloading the application directly. You'll need to sign in from the upper right corner of your browser and enter your Adobe ID and password.

Uninstall and reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop App

The Creative Cloud desktop app is critical for working with Adobe apps but if you’re having problems installing apps because it has been corrupted, you should uninstall and reinstall it to fix the problem.

On a Windows PC

  1. Download the ZIP file containing the executable uninstaller (.exe).

  2. Extract Creative Cloud Uninstaller.zip.

  3. Run the executable installer file, Creative Cloud Uninstaller.exe.

  4. The installer prompts you to confirm that you want to uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app. Review the message and click Uninstall.

  5. The uninstaller removes the app from your computer and displays a confirmation message. Click Close.

  6. Download and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

On a Mac

  1. Download the Zip file and mount the DMG file.

  2. Depending on your security settings, you may receive a warning to open the uninstaller from the mounted DMG file. Click Open to continue.

  3. The installer prompts you to confirm that you want to uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app. Review the message and click Uninstall.

  4. The uninstaller removes the app from your computer and displays a confirmation message. Click Close.

  5. Download and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.
