Generate soundtracks for your uploaded videos in a few simple steps.

With Generating soundtrack (beta), you can upload a video to receive a tailored prompt based on its content, such as vibe, style, purpose, energy, and tempo. You can then customize and refine the prompt to better match your needs.

On the Firefly homepage, select Generate from the left panel and then from the Audio tab, select Generate soundtrack.

On the Generate soundtrack page, the left panel contains a sample prompt. The colored text in the prompt represents a structure that highlights different dimensions of soundtrack generation.

The sample prompt displays different labels in various colors indicating the vibe, style, and purpose.
Labels in different colors indicate the vibe, style, and purpose inputs used in the soundtrack generation prompt.

A. Vibe B. Non-customizable part of the prompt C. Style D. Purpose

To generate a soundtrack for your video, upload the video using the Upload Video option.

The video is analyzed, and based on its attributes, you get a starting point for your prompt, which you can edit and customize before beginning the soundtrack generation process.

The Suggest prompt section lists vibe, style, and purpose options such as energetic, dreamy, electronic, and others.
Adjust and customize the suggested prompt for your specific need.

If you want to edit the prompt, you can refine it further by removing or adding the preloaded tags for each attribute.

You can edit the prompt by selecting tags from the following available attributes:

  • Vibe: Represented by purple text in the prompt. You can use this to define the overall mood or emotional tone for soundtrack generation.
The expanded Vibe section displays several input options such as chill, happy, sad, romantic, dark, and others.
Select Vibe inputs to define the mood of the generated soundtrack.

  • Style: Represented by blue text in the prompt. You can use this to define the genre or instrumentation for soundtrack generation.
The Style section displays a list of input options such as pop, rock, lo-fi, jazz, classical, hip hop, and others.
Select Style inputs to define the basic genre of the generated soundtrack.

  • Purpose: Represented by green text in the prompt. You can use this to define the intended use case or context for soundtrack generation.
The Purpose section displays a list of inputs such as workout, study, relaxation, party, sleep and others.
Select Purpose inputs to describe the intention of the generated soundtrack.

If you want to add your own tags for any of the attributes, you can use descriptive adjectives.

The Style section displays a list of input examples and the option to enter addition descriptors for the style of sound.

Set the tempo to define the speed or pace of the soundtrack for the generation. There are the following options to choose from:

  • Slow: Low-paced and calm
  • Medium: Steady, balanced, and moderately paced
  • Fast: Quick, energetic, and high-paced

Selecting a Tempo to define the pace and rhythm of the generated soundtrack.

By default, the duration of the generated soundtrack will match the duration of the uploaded video. If you want to increase or decrease the duration, you can use the Duration section.

Select Generate to trigger the soundtrack generation.

You can use the credits indicator next to the Generate button to check how many generative credits will be used.

Once the soundtrack is generated, you'll get four different variations. You can preview each one along with the video.

The Download window displays four generated soundtracks with a preview section and a download button.
Select and download your preferred variation.

Highlight the variation that you want to download and select Download

The file is downloaded in the same format (MOV or MP4) as the one you uploaded.

Tip

If your soundtrack isn’t matching your expectations, it may be due to conflicting input terms. For example, setting the Vibe to calm and the Style to heavy metal can lead to unpredictable results, often favoring one over the other.

You can adjust the Vibe to better align with your desired mood, then refine the Style to complement it, and avoid mixing terms that represent opposite emotional tones or musical genres.
