Know about the Guided edits to learn how to edit your videos using these actions in Premiere Elements.
The Guided mode offers a set of built-in Guided Edits, which take you through a series of steps to help you perform a specific editing task. This guided approach helps you easily learn Adobe Premiere Elements and turn your video clips into professionally edited movies.
To start exploring and using the available Guided Edits, click the Quick tab or the Expert tab, and then click the Guided tab.
Navigation
There are a number of guided edits available as sequential workflows in the guided mode. To explore these workflows, navigate from the Quick or Expert editing modes.
The steps that appear in each Guided Edit are based on which mode you switched to Guided mode from, Quick or Expert. The steps differ for Quick or Expert editing modes.
Guided Edits Navigation
In the Guided Edits panel, you will find two tabs—Tutorials and Search—at the top. You'll find tag-based filters and a Search bar in the Search panel when you select the Search tab.
You can also download and bookmark the selected guided edits by clicking on the Download button and Add to Watchlist icon (which appears when you hover the mouse over the desired Graphic). You can bookmark the selected graphic only after you have downloaded it.
Guided Edits
Guided edits help you perform video-editing tasks with ease. From trimming unwanted footage to animating graphics in your video clips, guided edits help you enhance your video clip.
Guided edits are further sub-divided into four categories based on their functionality. Click a guided edit to read and explore it further.
Basics
- Get started: This guided edit is a tutorial on performing basic edits on your video clips. You learn how to add clips to your video, arrange them sequentially, and split and trim the clips. Once you finish these basic editing tasks, it guides you on publishing your edited clip.
- Add titles with Motion Graphics: You can add titles with Motion Graphics templates to liven up your movie.
- Add and edit titles: You can add editable titles to your video clips and choose different fonts and colors.
- Move, Trim & split clips: After recording/shooting your video clips, you sometimes realize that parts of the footage are not required. This guided edit shows you how to move, trim, and split footage.
- Adjust Shadows & Highlights: Use this guided edit to reveal hidden details in your videos' darkest and lightest areas.
Basics in Premiere Elements 2024 and earlier versions
- Get started: This guided edit is a tutorial on how to perform basic edits on your video clips. You learn how to add clips to your video, arrange them in a sequence, split, and trim the clips. Once you are through with these basic editing tasks, it guides you on how to publish your edited clip.
