MXF is a container format, and support for importing MXF files depends on the codec used inside the file. Only MXF files that contain MPEG-2 video can be imported.
MXF files using other codecs, such as AVC/H.264, XAVC, DNxHD/DNxHR, Apple ProRes, or IMX, are not supported for video import. In some cases, only the audio from these files may be imported.
