Adobe® Experience Manager Webinars Integration helps you in creating a compelling registration experience for your online events and webinars. This package works with Adobe Experience Manager Solution.

Using the package you can create fully customized and reusable CQ pages, which contain information about your Adobe® Connect™ events.

This integration package adds Adobe Connect Event components to an Adobe® CQ environment. These components can then be used to create web pages in CQ that link to specific Adobe Connect events and populate the details of the events on CQ pages. Using these components, you can create list or catalog of Adobe Connect events and webinars in your CQ pages.

Configuring AEM Webinars Integration package

You can configure your Adobe CQ instance to connect with an Adobe Connect account, using the following steps.

Only an Adobe Connect Account Administrator or an Adobe Connect Event Administrator can configure the package.

If you link with Adobe Connect 9.0 account, it displays a warning and works with limited functionality.

  1. Log in to your Adobe CQ instance, as an administrator.

The credentials are not stored and are used only for one-time configuration. The configuration is retained even when the administrator password is changed.

  2. Click Cloud Services, access Adobe Experience Manager Webinars Integration, and click Configure Now.

  3. Provide a Title and Name for the account association.

  4. Provide the Adobe Experience Manager Webinars Integration settings. Account URL is the Adobe Connect account URL.

Also provide the URL of your external Adobe CQ Publish instance. This is used to map Adobe Connect event pages to the corresponding Adobe CQ URLs.

If you are using a dispatcher or a load balancer, provide this URL, instead of the URL of a CQ Publish node.

  5. Click Link.

Creating Event Pages and associating them with events

The four types of Event Pages are Event Info, Speaker Info, Event Registration, and Event Login Page. When associating a CQ page with an event, you can indicate the type of the CQ page.

Adobe Connect 9.2 onwards, social registration is available for participants to register and attend Events. Participants cannot use their social logins to register or attend Adobe Connect Events cataloged using AEM Webinar Integration package.

Defining the page associations of Event Pages in remote Adobe CQ

Event Pages of events created in Adobe Connect 9.x can be hosted in Adobe CQ. You can either use the Adobe CQ instance installed and integrated with Adobe Connect or you can use a remote Adobe CQ to host the pages of an event.

To create and associate Event Pages in remote CQ, follow these steps.

  1. When creating an event in Adobe Connect, select ‘Use External CQ Template’ checkbox. This creates the links to Event Pages.

  2. Create the Event Pages in Adobe CQ with desired layout and format.

  3. Associate the event with the Event Pages using Event Associator CQ component. Drag and drop the Event Associator component on the page.

  4. Click Edit on the Event Associator toolbar and in the properties dialog box, open Page Associations tab and mark the type page you are creating. To know more about Event Associator, see {Adobe CQ components}.

Setting page associations for Adobe Connect 9 events

Page associations are always created manually. Creating the page associations is also called as marking page type. In Adobe Connect 9.1 and later, the linking between the event and the Event Pages works without manual intervention, but in Adobe Connect 9.0, the automatic linking is not supported.

If an event is already associated to a remote CQ page, then associating the same event to a different CQ page displays the previous association and the URLs for Event Pages.

Warning displayed when overriding existing association of Adobe Connect 9 events

Even though marking the page type does not link Adobe Connect 9 event with CQ Event Pages, you can mark the pages to avoid potential conflicts. If a page type is marked, other users can verify the Page Type by opening the Page Associations tab and get a warning when overriding the association.

When creating Event Pages for Adobe Connect 9 events, manually send the links to these Event Pages to your participants.

Reusing an Adobe CQ page for multiple events

Adobe CQ pages or templates, created for an event, can be reused to display details of other events. You can modify the associated event in Event Associator component. However, only one event can be associated at a time with a CQ page. When you modify the event association on a CQ page, the CQ pages do not show details of the previously associated event.

To use a single CQ template to associate multiple events simultaneously, create copies of the CQ page for simultaneous usage. Associate an event with a unique copy of the CQ page.

Creating Catalogs of Adobe Connect events in remote Adobe CQ

Using the AEM Webinars Integration package, you can create catalogs of your multiple Adobe Connect events inside a remote CQ instance.

Using the Subscriptions tab in the Event List component, create a catalog of events listed on your linked Adobe Connect server or the events linked from the Local CQ Pages. When using the latter option, add a CQ folder to fetch the list of events under it. All the Adobe Connect events associated with CQ pages contained recursively in the added CQ folder are listed. By clicking Add Item multiple times, you can add multiple pages from which the linked events are extracted and displayed in the listing.

Fetch events from either Adobe Connect Server or Local CQ Pages to display in a catalog

When using the CQ components with Webinars Integration package, borrow the formatting of the CQ page to format the newly added text by selecting ‘Inherit page font properties’ radio button in the Font Properties tab of relevant component.

Event Associator

Event Associator component associates an Adobe CQ page with an Adobe Connect event. You can create a one-on-one mapping to an event on the associated Adobe Connect instance. You can modify the event association any time. You can specify which Event Page, a CQ page represents.

Page associations are always created manually. Creating the page associations is also called as marking page type. In Adobe Connect 9.1 and later, the linking between the event and the Event Pages works without manual intervention, but in Adobe Connect 9.0, the automatic linking is not supported.

To set the properties of the fonts on the page, go to the Font Properties tab and choose to either borrow the CSS properties of the page or to define your own formatting options.
