Issue
After Effects CC closes and returns the following error:
"After Effects error: CT bad param: TrueType or CFF font expected ( 83 :: 2 )."
Other dialog boxes can appear as After Effects closes.
Solution
This error occurs if you have the Type 1 PostScript font Arial MT installed. Remove these fonts to allow After Effects CC to launch properly.

Search for the Arial MT font of type Postscript Type 1 Outline Font in these locations:
- HD/Library/Fonts
- HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts
- HD/Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts
You can find the font easily by looking at the list view of these folders.
