Issue

When you open a project, you receive the following error:

"After Effects Error:  Crash Occurred While Invoking Plug-in Shadow/Highlight."

There is another error that refers to another plug-in, such as Warp Stabilizer, Paint, or Auto-Contrast.

Solution

To open the project, remove the Shadow/Highlight plug-in from the plug-in folder within the application folder.

To resolve this issue, precompose the footage layer, and move the attributes inside the composition.

Once the footage has been precomposed, then you can restore the Shadow/Highlight plug-in.

Additional information

The error occurs when the Shadow/Highlight plug-in is in an adjustment layer above a footage layer with Warp Stabilizer, Paint, or Auto-Contrast applied.
