AIR component fails when installing Creative Suite 5 products

Issue

AIR-based components don't install during the Creative Suite 5 product installation.

Solution

  1. Uninstall any copies of AIR.
    • Windows XP
    1. Choose Start > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add Or Remove Programs.
    3. Select Adobe AIR and click Remove.
    • Windows 7/Vista
    1. Choose Start > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Programs And Features.
    3. Select Adobe AIR and click Uninstall.
    • Mac OS X
    1. In the Finder, navigate to /Applications/Utilities.
    2. Double-click the Adobe AIR Uninstaller application.
  2. Navigate to an AIR component installation folder. For example, D:\Adobe Master Collection CS5\Adobe CS5\payloads\AdobeHelp.
  3. Double-click AIRInstallerRunner.exe (Windows) or AIRInstallerRunner.app (Mac OS).
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  5. Double-click the AIR component package. For example, AdobeHelp.air.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    • If everything installs successfully, run the Creative Suite 5 product installer again.
    • If any errors occur, search the Adobe Knowledgebase for solutions.

Additional information

There is no specific error that produces this issue. During the analysis of the Creative Suite 5 product installation log, an AIR-based component returns a Status: Not 0. However, no error is found in the component installation.
