VIP Marketplace: Adding and deploying licenses

Once you are enrolled in VIP Marketplace, adding and deploying licenses is easy. Using your online license management tool—the Admin Console—you can add licenses and inform users that the software has been deployed to them. Also, to support changing needs, such as teaching, learning in institutes and project management in organizations, you can easily assign and unassign users.

License management made easy via the Admin Console

The Admin Console is an online tool that allows organizations to manage their users as well as the addition, assignment, and reassignment of Adobe licenses. The member of your organization who received the welcome email and accepted the VIP Marketplace terms and conditions is the first person who will have access to your organization’s Admin Console. Once this person accesses the Admin Console, they can begin managing licenses and users along with granting administration rights to other members of their organization.

Adding licenses

Orders may be placed by VIP Marketplace Members at any time throughout the license term. You can add licenses by contacting your reseller or by adding licenses in the Admin Console. Adding licenses is simple in the Admin Console. Once you’ve added the additional licenses your team needs, you may provide your users with immediate access. Your reseller will be notified that you’ve made a request to place an order. Your reseller must place an order with Adobe within 7 days after the licenses have been added or Adobe will remove the licenses.

Some products cannot be added directly to the Admin Console and members may place their product orders directly with their reseller before deployment.

Note:

Note: The VIP Marketplace Member may appoint its reseller as an additional administrator to help manage the Member’s account, but a reseller may not serve as the primary administrator.

Deployment management

Deployment management is one of the key features of VIP Marketplace. VIP Marketplace Administrators can view information about deployed/added licenses, such as which individuals currently have deployed licenses, and the number of licenses purchased vs. the number of licenses deployed. VIP Marketplace Admins may assign, unassign and reassign licenses from the Admin Console.

Assigning named-user licenses

After adding named-user licenses to the Admin Console, the VIP Marketplace Admin has the ability to assign the added licenses to specific users. The Admin may add users to the console individually or through a bulk upload process. Once the users are added, the Admin can assign product entitlements. The assigned user(s) will receive a welcome email notifying them of their access to the product(s).

Returns

Returns are accepted if the entire order is returned and if the licenses are not currently in use. Adobe must receive the return request within 14 days after the order has been placed with Adobe. Consumables or Adobe Acrobat Sign Solutions Subscription for Government may not be returned if any part of the Consumable or Adobe Acrobat Sign Solutions Subscription for Government has been used, unless otherwise indicated in the specific Product terms.

Returns for customers migrating from VIP to VIP Marketplace

If the VIP Member has any VIP orders that are eligible for return, then such orders may no longer be returned after migration to VIP Marketplace. Upon migration to VIP Marketplace, VIP Member waives any rights to return for such orders.

Returns for VIP Marketplace 3-year commit customers

During the VIP Marketplace 3-year Commit Amendment Term, Member may only return a quantity of licenses that ensures Member maintains the Minimum Commitment. See your VIP Marketplace 3-year Commit Amendment for details.

Regional deployment

VIP Marketplace Members must purchase for the country where their team members reside. For team members residing in Europe, “country” shall mean Europe. In this case, “Europe” means EU Member countries. Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK. To the extent there is inconsistency between this restriction and terms stated in an applicable end-user license agreement, this restriction shall govern.

Example: Your organization is based in the United States. However, some of your employees reside in France, and others live in Japan.

You can do either one of the following:

  1. If your organization has locations in 3 or more countries, you qualify as a Global Customer. Global Customers may purchase all licenses centrally from a reseller who is authorized to sell in all regions.
  2. Have your local offices in France and Japan purchase from local resellers using a separate VIP Marketplace ID for each country.
