Troubleshoot cross-reference errors in Responsive HTML5 output in FrameMaker (2017 release) Update 3.
Issue: error in cross-references with character formatting
If you apply character formatting on cross-references, you may face the following issues in the Responsive HTML5 output:
- The HTML tag for the corss-reference is published with missing closing tag.
- The content between two cross-references with character formatting is not published.
Solution: deploy the updated MifHTML.dll
Note
Ensure that you back up the original MifHTML.dll file from the following location and then proceed further.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 2017\fminit\Publisher
Perform the following steps to resolve the issue:

Download

Extract the MifHTML.zip file.
NoteThe MifHTML.zip file contains the updated version of MifHTML.dll file.

Copy the MifHTML.dll file from the extracted folder and paste in the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 2017\fminit\Publisher

Launch FrameMaker and publish the Responsive HTML5 output.
