Problem
Some security vulnerabilities that result in the following conditions are identified in FrameMaker Summer 2020 release Update 2 and earlier and FrameMaker 2019 release Update 8 and earlier:
- Out-of-bound read access while parsing PDF files
- Out-of-bound write access while parsing PDF files
- Memory Corruption Remote Code Execution
- Use-After-Free Information Disclosure

Note:
These issues are fixed in FrameMaker Summer 2020 release Update 3. You can install the latest update by launching FrameMaker and then going to Help > Updates, or visit the Download FrameMaker page.
Solution
To resolve these issues of FrameMaker (2019 release) Update 8, do the following:

Extract the contents of the ZIP file. The ZIP contains the following updated files:
- AdobePDFL.dll
- CoolType.dll
- FrameMaker.exe
- FrameMaker.exe.config
- FrameMaker.exe.manifest
- JP2KLib.dll
- AdobePDFL.dll

Navigate to the FrameMaker install location.
The default install location corresponding to your version of FrameMaker is:
- 64-bit: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 2019
- 32-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 2019
- 64-bit: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 2019

Replace the existing files with the updated files you extracted in Step 2.
When you are prompted, click Yes to overwrite the existing files.

Launch FrameMaker.
